The results of the NATA novice rounds are in. I didn't make it to the next round, but Oryozema did! Hope all goes well for him in the next round of the competition. In the meanwhile, I might go find a PO4 partner. I probably want to enter as a musician and soundeffects guy. Also, I haven't forgotten about the project I've been planning to organize this year, but I have to check with Rig first. Get it rolling :)

You got Daily 3rd with Space Boy, on a very competitive day, congrats man! VA work was fantastic, and the Zim looking characters really put the focus on the introspective side of things. You can't go wrong, starting production with a good script :)

I've been thinking of ways to best my score. Things that crossed my mind were the use of shading, a more vivid use of colors maybe, linework improvements, or backgrounds that are less sketchy and more detailed. I guess all of that would have helped a bit, but probably the best way to improve on my score was to have a short script instead. That way I could have spent more time on details, and probably would have pushed my skills a little more in terms of action sequences or complex movements and such. Another thing that ate a lot of time was audio. I might want to do a music video next time I enter. Then again, I know it won't have the same dramatical impact, so I'm not too sure about that one.
I never doubted your ability to produce good content, so whatever new shortcuts and approaches you wanna try, must be worth the effort. Audio gets sorely overlooked, it seems...

Things are good man. I finally decided to get my home studio up and running again. Bought an Akai EIE Pro and built a rack for my synthesizers. It was about time too, they kind of collected dust for the past couple of years. Actually, lots of things in my home changed recently. I decided to move around some furniture and replaced things here and there. Speaking of replacement, I really need to write a new blog entry, heh.
Oh right, I also joined the Girl In A Room Collab II. I still have to get started, really. The script's ready though.

Ah, in pain, but I can still walk and talk okay. Moving stuff too, 2 houses worth, and I'm not sure how long it will be before I have to move.. depends on when the farm gets sold, then the clock starts.
I'm kinda pissed off that this woman hasn't mailed me a videocamera yet, I'll write to her once more before I blow the whistle on Ebay... I have to use a specific camera to get the quality I need for transferal to digital, which is rough enough considering the cassettes are over 15 years old now O_O
I'll be ordering parts for a sweet PC soon, so there's that at least. I've got a tab of acid for the assembling event :)
Oh man, every time you mention selling the farm I die a little bit inside. That really has to suck! But the video thing sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and this new computer sounds like a treat. What do you think of the latest news post? Sounds pretty promising.
Still hoping NG can gain a little more attention, and the adult site transition goes well... if it ever happens. I know Tom already bought the new site name (forgot it, but it sounded decent), but how will it associate with NG? We've got a content filter system already... dunno if Tom's sold/leased the old office yet. Too many things, not enough people to do them, and keep up with the day to day stuff :\
I'm guessing the adult site still works via the same server, so it's probably not so hard to have both domains interact with each other. Log in on Newgrounds, tick the box for adult content and it uploads to the other website. I think the adult website may also be able to use the same Newgrounds database, much like newgroundsmobile.com (at least, I suspect it does). I'm not sure to what extent though. And yeah man, Tom's such a hard worker! I feel like he's doing way too much all by himself and should instead be giving stuff out of hands (being a jury member, bothering with throwback Thursday, best of the month, etc.). I really do appreciate his presence within the community though! Not many admins get this involved with the users.
No, that's the thing: Tom has to keep the adult stuff on a completely different server, otherwise the bigger advertisers won't touch NG, as they do now (more or less). But yeah, hoping for a single access for both sites. It could be structured rather smoothly... but I wonder if it's possible with the NG team now :\ Maybe Tom blew the money on a adult site name for nothing.
Guess it's not in his character to ask for free help (or help with strings attached, like in venture capital..)
In that case it's gonna be tricky. At one point I think they're gonna have to stop the flow of adult content on Newgrounds, and then select all of its content from the database (which should include the user account info) over to the new server. I'm not entirely sure if it works that way, but if it does, it's probably a lot of mind numbing manual labor, and could take agesss.
Or he could of course make a big announcement about removing all the adult content. Needless to say that would end up in a shitstorm. People might even leave. Nobody needs that. And what of people like Stamper or Emily Youcis? They are basically KNOWN for their adult content. What's to become of that? And what will happen to the MGS collab? Or The Streetfighter collab and Blamformers? I know those collabs contain adult content, but it's so much more than that! It doesn't belong on a different website.
I think you're right. This other domain might not work out.
