I ran a couple more recording rounds. The 4th bass string was the one that delivered better base sounds. In this file you'll find the robot cat walk I was able to make as well as a reel full of different raw base sounds If you want to give it another shot :

It makes sense what you say about A-bot walk being too robotic and mechanic.
I was thinking about a time automation, but I don't think that would make enough difference.
If I can think about something better, I'll give it another shot.

Cool man! I'll give those sounds a look over and see if there's anything I can come up with.

Hey Whirlguy, is it too late to join the team? i can do any of the three things listed. just tell me what to do and ill do it.

Hmm so I wonder what happened to this? Are you still actively involved? Is the full thing still a plan? Progress seems somewhat slow, but first part's so close now...

I'm a bit reluctant to post this in fear that I might offend someone but it's been a little weird from the start. It was very different from the 20th Anniversary Collab but I'm happy to say I learned a lot in the process and I'm not planning to make the same mistakes in future projects. I've not completely distanced myself from the 15th Audio Anniversary, but I've often found my role to be redundant. Sometimes they'll ask me for advice and that's pretty much my only involvement right now. I think the project is slowly falling in obscurity right now, which is a little sad.

All seemed well at the beginning of this project. We brainstormed and developed a plan to get this project on the road. Next we had a script written. Then problem 1 surfaced: The script was too big and it contained many errors. SourJovis had to deal with all of this editing on his own. All of this was on the NG forums which was easy to keep track of and I decided to help out. Eventually we agreed to limit the project to ACT I because it was so much. Many drafts later, we were heading for 2018.

Problem 2: All the other factions decided to move over to Discord. I opposed this idea for fear of losing track of progress as their overseer. I never used discord at the time and I wanted to keep everyone in the same place anyway. Turns out it's hard to find back crucial information in a chatroom. I was often asked to fix things but I couldn't even tell what the problem was.

Problem 3: Many participants were rounded up months in advance and left to wait. In hindsight that wasn't a good idea. The script ended up taking forever and the audio department had already deployed itself on Discord prematurely (not my decision), where participants were getting bored with nothing to do. Eventually these musicians checked an old draft and started working on songs that weren't even going to be used in the final version. And I believe one of our main voice actors recorded his lines before the script was finished and later dropped out. I accounted for that issue before we got started but it still happened because people got impatient.

Problem 4: It was a hassle to find the right people for the job. Barely anyone signed up to make sound effects! We also ran short on voice actors at some point. One of the songs had a cameo of Tom Fulp singing some lines. Tom was indeed contacted by participants but he didn't respond to their request. But that's fine right? My solution was we could just write him out of the lyrics and move on with the project. He would be missed dearly but at least his voice wouldn't be inconsistent.

As far as I know the project is really close to being finished right now: A lot of songs are done, many lines have been recorded and the sound effects that will be used are from a common use source. I guess they didn't like my advice to take out Tom Fulp however. Last thing I heard they're still looking for someone to sing in his stead. This is pretty much why I'm not putting in the effort any longer. If I'm not making executive decisions, then what point is there in being the leader? They could easily finish the audio drama without me, and I hope they will. I feel bad for Troisnyx but it is what it is.

Well that explains a lot of it. I thought I joined the party a bit late, but I guess I still jumped into the Discord in that phase where everything wasn't really prepped yet; awaited my turn. Things slowed down, and Troisnyx kept it rolling, but it still didn't really get anywhere as well as it could have. It's been a while since I checked in now but I've done my part and hopefully the rest is still on route... the script really had potential to make for a bigger thing, shame it couldn't happen when everyone was most active there.

I do agree regarding Discord's lack of functionality in regard to finding, though it does have a few handy bits with regards to roles and permissions, and splitting up discussion in all relevant channels. Didn't have a Discord either before this thing. Signed up for a bundle after it as it seemed everyone was starting their own channels too, but I'm not much for real-time chat really. Too direct. Too messy. Too... social? IDK what traits I be lacking there. I like being able to go back to the beginning too, something it really doesn't allow easily.

As far as I know someone did jump in to voice Tom btw. Yeah, likewise. Good to get your take on this. Troisnyx really put in work too, as did others of course. I guess all this really boils down to is: problems in communication and planning. Getting this thing done for the 25th NG anniversary might be something hmm...
