I feel awesome today =D

So yeah about my music... I used to work with two monitors, they were second hand alesis M1Active MKII, the first set of professional monitors I ever had in my posession. One of them broke down about 2 years ago, and that's when I decided to use my stereospeakers as an alternative. It was supposed to be for just one song, before getting new ones. But eventually I ended up making 2 years worth of songs that way.
I had my reasons for not getting myself any new speakers. You see, it was quite interesting working with a regular stereo set. It's like working from a different angle. I felt that if I mixed my songs well enough, they would sound good even though they were mixed on unprofesional speakers. Besides, the MKII monitors could handle way more bass than my earphones, but if I were to partially mix it with my earphones, I was assured that way more people could enjoy the final mix. Obviously not everything I mixed came out right, but I have definitely improved on my mixes.

Well so, I must say mixing on several bad quality speakers has created some sort of awareness towards the quality of the final mix for me. And this is nice and all, but it's nowhere close to a professional mix just yet. So what's missing? Professional studio monitors obviously.

Today I've got my hands on some KRK Rokit RP5's, and they've completely wowed me. Everything I listen with them sounds so wide, so spaceous, it's amazing! Whenever I hear people sing in a song, it's as if they're standing right in front of me. The same goes for the music itself, it sounds more real, natural if you will. This is exactly what a perfect mix is supposed to sound like!
As for my own songs? Mehhh, some of them come somewhat close, but it still doesn't sound wide enough for my liking. Oh well, now that I've got these awesome new speakers, I can wide up my songs as if it were your mother's vagina! =D

Oh, and this remix's awesome.

Hey man, that's awesome. I must admit that I've never used monitors all the time I've been making music. I've been thinking about it a bit lately, although I'm doing nowhere near as much music production as I used to. How've you been? Haven't spoken with you in a while.

Also, that song kicks ass, good find.

Hey man! Yeah, I've been good, how about yourself? Also, I'm curious about what you've been mixing on instead :P
You should really get some new songs ready too man (:
