Today I've been at an open day at NHTV College in Breda, Holland.
One of the things they teach here is Game Design which has 2 directions. A direction for Programmers, which very few people attend to and is really hard. And of course the people who study into the visual aspects of the game, which isnt exactly easy either. Of course there is also audio needed in games, but you'll have to go to a Conservatory to study that seperately.

This day was very educational, inspiring but also very motivating! The schedules were much harder and much more time consuming than I would ever have imagined, many of the students and teachers looked tired. But those tired faces were hidden mostly by their pride and motivation. I felt right at home lol!

Sounds great and all, but this study sadly wont leave any free time. This has to be your hobby, because if it's not, there won't be any time for hobbies. Aproximately 40 houres per week will be spent at school. Your teachers will tell you how the programs work, after that you'll continue studying your own way. At the end of the year you should have completed 2 projects together with other students from a group you´re parted in.

I got really motivated about this all after I heard this study doesn't aquire high schoolmarks. What's most important to this study is your portfolio. You won't get in if you're not tallented, or have few knowledge on the subject.

I'll be sure to study hard, fill up my portfolio with everything Im capable off, and put it online ^-^
There might be a future for me afteral! O:
