The Next Round

Posted by Whirlguy - May 31st, 2014

Tom still has to make an official post about this, but the NATA results are in! I went to the next round apparently. Now I'm in a pool with oryozema (entry) and LazyModeComics (entry) - both amazing animators! I feel like I'm the weakest link here, but I'll try my best. This time I want to have an actual script going before I start. Can't wait for them to announce the new theme.

EDIT: The new theme is "Through The Eyes Of A Stranger".

In the meanwhile, here's today's gems. I'm a sucker for spam and choppy stuff that reminds me of the early Newgrounds days. Sorry about that.

Gotta love the Sonic cartoon, guy always makes me laugh, and that's a fucking rarity these days.

Yeah, pretty good stuff! Reminded me of Kirbopher a little.

Early Kirbopher... this guy's certainly got better segues :) Rrrogerderogerrrr, or whatever his username is...

Yeah, early Kirbopher. His stuff looks quite different nowadays. I have no idea who that user is lol

He's 4 years older than you, probably lives right around the corner, and you never knew it!
He's also been at this for over a decade... http://rogerregorroger.newgrounds.com/movies/

Oh him haha! I guess everything in Holland is around the corner from an American perspective, but yeah. He's not that close to where I live. Would be cool to find some active users here on Newgrounds living in my area :)

Oh man, I knew you were gonna say that! But to be fair, there's over 300 million of us wonkers over here (and probably 40 million Mexicans and other illegal immigrants on top of it). You never know who's where on this thing... I know a member who's about 20 minutes away, but he's a bit of a prat on NG :\

My state of New Jersey almost has 9 million assholes here.. just found this while looking for quantifiable proportions.... :p http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_megalopolis

Might as well link you to the demographics of the Netherlands. I believe the entire country is only twice the size of New Jersey :P

Good looking population stats, very steady.... now Japan on the other hand, looks to be dropping fast...

Shibuya crossing will never be the same again.

Neither has Times Square, since 9/11; just like Nostradamus said, "Once the twin brothers fall in the new city, the inhabitants of the new world will go mad and never recover." I knew about the Ginza, but not the Shibuya crossing, thanks!

Interesting side-story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D I had read a short story some time ago, about a faithful robot, who stayed at his master's grave for many centuries.... an obvious nod to this akita.

I keep hearing about things Nostradamus said. I would really like to know what else is in that book of his. Also, there's a movie about that dog, isn't there?

The trick is, to find a century old reprint... All the Nostradamus translations were done by a British twit, who leaned towards French and not Gaulish |:

Probably. If the Japanese haven't made 4 movies, and countless manga on the subject, I'm sure some other ppl's in the world have. Wooof-woof!

Woof indeed. My father has the movie Hatchi. It's probably a shitty remake of an amazing original, but I really should go and watch it nonetheless.

So what you're saying is all of the recent Nostradamus translations are crap? You need one from the early 1900's?

Bluh, I got older... from the late 1800's. It's not easy to find. I found a copy for my mother, but she loaned it to a book hoarder, and I don't have it anymore |:

If I would ever get my hands on a book like that, I'd have to scan every page and turn the whole thing into a pdf file so I can share it with the rest of the web.

Awesome awesome. Good luck :D

Thanks a lot, gonna need it!
