I'll just start another list of gems to get myself motivated.

Damn bro, after 10 years and a shit-ton of good content, you're entitled to a little time off! Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and stuff.

Very true man! I just feel like I haven't spent enough time of those years checking out new content. I used to really enjoy participating in those treasure hunts and all. So much good stuff is overlooked! :)

I see you keep adding new gems! BTW, just caught your last art piece... isn't there an X-Mas card exchange thread somewhere? Might be worth asking if anyone got it. I did a Valentine's day card for an exchange 2 years ago, and Jaxxy got it... but I never got one >:( kinda put me off from doing another.

Yeah, maybe I should have asked. At first I thought someone was going to post about it, but eventually that never happened. Christmas is pretty long gone, and I don't feel like bumping up such an old thread. I received some pretty sweet art from Havegum myself. Cool how your card ended up with Jaxxy, although it's too bad you never got anything in return. Mail sucks pretty hard sometimes. Personally I was really stoked to hear about the arrival of my card, but alas. You should try again sometime :)

Eh, maybe. Jaxxy PMed me for a while afterwords, but she's working for YouTube now, doesn't come on here much anymore. It sucks, but she's gotten married in the interim so... Besides, all I did was raid my mother's old sticker collection and printed up some stock NG art, I'm long since out of the creative game.

Ah, well. If that's how you feel about it.

I see you got the Dog Dayz trailer up there, the episode itself looks atypically good http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/635278 He must be high if he thinks he's getting 40 grand in a Kickstarter.. neat booty to offer...

See, this is one of the reasons I lost motivation in creative ventures: I can just sit on my ass and watch other people do it! Guess it's better to run your own race, and get out of the development phase asap.

Haha yeah, it looks pretty damn good though! So you're kind of like a spectator then? :P

Yeah, I'm living up to my username :\ All my video cameras died about the same time I found NG 15 years ago. The writing was on the wall: TV dies out and the internet rises. But to be fair, I was producing stuff for public access cable TV, which didn't have a big audience to being with... though I had hoped to contact Flash movie producers, and see if they'd like their toons on air, get some support for NG as well.

Sound like you were doing pretty amazing things 15 years ago. Truth be told I feel like I'm missing a big part of the whole story here. Either way, it's a shame none of that worked out back then. I see you like Darkroastedblend by the way! That's cool, it's my friend's favorite website :)

Ah, you know how it is with war/business... plenty of things you're not supposed to talk about. I had a job filming consumer research subjects for various clients. Before that, I was part of the press - definite conflict of interest to do both.

Oh man, so many old websites are still up and running... it's not just Newgrounds hangin on by their fingernails.

That's such a shame, must have been a cool job. I try not to think too much about Newgrounds having it bad, and just be the best user I can be. What are these other sites you spoke of?

Lol, it was cool, but also sad and immoral at times. Plenty of room to impress them with concepts to further their goals, which still feels shocking to me... our overlords being so detached from normalcy, they can't even lie to them effectively.

I got the best old links listed already... depends on your poison! Been a long road: FTP file sharing, to Napster, to Limewire, Frostwire... I think we all knew in the mid 90's it wouldn't take too long for the corporations to own the net, all it needed was Google to gentrify it

I only discovered the net after the millenium, so I wasn't expecting any of that, but I've seen a couple of sites sell out. The world's a pretty fucked up place. I'm just really glad that never happened to Newgrounds. This place is like my home.

Yup, it's good to have a friend in Pennsylvania named Tom. Took me a little over a year to make an account here; only had a cheapie dialup with a single email address, which I in no way wanted compromised.

Tom gave me a quick tour of the offices last year.... in fact, I made snap judgements on pretty much everyone I met at Pico Day, made an interesting, if long-ass post.

I just read the whole thing, that's freakin' sweet! Interesting how you wrote about people's personalities, it really triggered my imagination. Especially your opinion on emily-youcis was insightful, as I never really knew what to think of her work. I didn't hear about the event back when it transpired. Makes me feel a bit sad, knowing I missed it. Tom's a good guy. I would love to meet him sometime myself. Pretty cool to read about your aspergers by the way. Seems like we have something in common.

Wow, you lurked a lot of history! Yeah, but funny thing? Luis mentioned trolls at the party, and last year, Emily apparently was acting quite troll-like, probably mostly on camera after I left :p So my opinion of her is slowly sinking, but not by much. Surely next time I see her, I'll pull her aside, and ask a few questions... the Asperger's certainly makes that part very interesting lol! I always seem to small talk my way into revealing the true nature of people, even though I would prefer not to! Maybe it's thanks to all the 'hard times' I had gotten growing up, and taking it all quite literally.

Tom usually is the first or second person on camera, pretty early, about 9-10am local time, then when folks start rolling in, he sits just outside of camera range :p I really want to set up the camera further back. It's set ontop the monitor, probably to keep ppl from tripping over a tripod, I would guess :\ I was quite en-rapt watching the 2012 Pico Day festivities in Chat!

Yeah, I know all too well how aspergers can get like that sometimes. It being hard to identify people's intentions and all. Anyway, that was a pretty interesting turn of events! I'm guessing this means you'll be attending again this year? It was an enjoyable read, so I'm actually looking forward to reading your next entry. I'll make sure to join the chat this time around :)

Wow, nice to have a 'constant reader', like a Stephen King fan! If it wasn't for an Apple IIc and a printer in the mid 80's, I'm sure my composition skills would be even more atrocious. But if you want a headache reading something, try http://nietzlawe.newgrounds.com/

Yup, I'll be there, probably bunking with at least one or two junior members... though I plan to be on the Sandman's doorstep before I hail a cab back to the hotel. I'm within 90 minutes of NGHQ, but I might as well live it up like a playa :p

I checked out nietzlawe's latest writing. It's as if he recorded a freestyle rap and then wrote it all down for people to read. Your writing looks fine to me. You have a big vocabulary, which has me puzzled sometimes, but that's nothing an online dictionary can't fix :)

Sounds like an awesome plan man! Someday I'd like to be there myself.

(looks both ways)
This came up in conversation (on my blog) lately.... http://vicariouse.newgrounds.com/news/post/697188 Ah, I was a word whore from the onset, reading ingredients off the cereal box, reading every book I could find, good, bad or indifferent. The Asterix comic books made me hit the dictionary, gladly so!

lol, what part came up? You mean I have to read through all 10,001 comments on your blog now? :P
The video is a pretty interesting watch. Ominous, but cool.
