I´m going to continue finding more gems. Let's see... mattyburrito could really use more fans, his Next Quest series are really fun! Also, be on the lookout for Bananinja, his Mario vs Sonic movie was pretty damn good. The same goes for Shoocharu.

Ohai everyone, I'm thrilled to announce I'm attending the Pico Day anniversary party at the Newgrounds office! I've never been to America before, neither have I actually traveled alone. I'll be in Philadelphia from the 23rd of April to the 28th, staying at this place I found through airbnb, which is actually just around the corner haha. So yeah, that's awesome.
Also, in honor of Newgrounds' 20th anniversary, I'm currently doing my best to revive an old project known as the CTSG Collab! The first "Continue The Song Game" started as a song made by the audio forums in 2008, which then crossed over to the flash forums and was turned into an animation. This time around, I want to involve even more portals, by linking the menu to a selection of art, mini games, litterarure, and maybe even some voice acting! As with each CTSG, audio is the first step, so I went to the forums in February, gathering some collab organizers in the meatime. By now, the song is almost finished. The rest should soon follow!
Here's a couple of fun cartoons I found lately. Enjoy:

Time for an update. What's been happening? Let's see, I had a good idea for a game. I worked out the concept a bit and started on the graphics but eventually felt that my approach was all wrong and stopped working on it. I have to figure out a better way to create pixel graphics in flash. Working with rasters is tedious and pretty hard on your computer's memory. Plus it's absolutely horrible to go back and edit. Maybe having pixel graphics was a bad idea altogether. I really wanted it to have that Diablo II atmosphere though... If memory serves right, Flixel had some really neat tools (EDIT: I mean Pixel Tools). Maybe I should check it out.
A break was in order anyway. A friend of mine introduced me to a game called Osu. I played that once before earlier this year, and concluded it wasn't really my thing. I'm not much of a rhythm gamer. Got to say It's really fun to see yourself improve though, and it made me want to watch anime. My friend started streaming his playthroughs over twitch and that's how I thought of streaming my animation projects. I've already downloaded the required software. All I have to do now is set it up so I can stream it over twitch.
This brings me to my upcoming projects. Truth be told; I used up a lot of energy working on that horror animation of mine. I really had to push myself to stay indoors and finish the project, which I kind of hated. Needless to say, I was reluctant to accept that rapper's request for a musicvideo. I am willing to consider this now, though. We still have to discuss a lot of things regarding the video, but it's a paid job and I could stream it online. I suddenly feel pretty motivated!

I'm done working on the collab, so I'll be focusing on new things now. Someone made me an offer to do a music video for a local hiphop artist, but I'm not sure whether I want to go through with that. Meh. I actually had a good concept for a horror game this year, but since I was already occupied with that collab deadline, there wasn't enough time for me to work on it. I was actually thinking of fleshing out the game concept, now that I've got time for it. But October is already behind us, and I'm not sure if I still want to. I might as well focus on that music video. It could prove to be a pretty fun project.
I think for now I'll get back to gem-hunting. Take Pennaz, for example. He landed a daily 1st twice, and they both ended up as Underdog Of The Week. His animation skills are superb. It saddens me to see I've got more fans than he does. 905 views on Bucket Tool? What the hell is wrong with the world? Go watch this stuff, damn it! Yet another artist who is going unnoticed would be McKodem. User Psdeg makes some pretty fun stuff as well. Only 1 fan right now. I also really enjoy naysu's videos. He depicts tv and videogame characters pretty damn accurately.

I completely forgot to make a Halloween post yesterday! Happy belated Halloween everyone. Hope you had a great time! Please check out A Girl In A Room II by clicking the image below. It's a collab I was in. I worked pretty damn hard on it too.
Also, here's an atmospheric looping piece of music I made this week:
Well then, have yourself an equally scary Día de los Muertos. Whirlguy out :)

The animation for the Girl In A Room Collab II is doing pretty good so far! Here's progress:
[X] 01. Designs
[X] 02. Sketching scenes
[X] 03. Audio synchronization
[X] 04. Animating
[X] 05. Color, Shading and Style Choice
[X] 06. Backgrounds
[X] 07. Gradients, Masks and Filters
[X] 08. Final Audio Mix
[X] 09. Cleanup, Font Choice & Final Editing
The audio has all been synced in FL Studio. Next I need to apply panning, filters, and then master the shit out of that. Most of the volume control has been dealt with, so it should be pretty easy from here on out. I also need to go back to the animation to apply a bit of lipsyncing here and there. Don't have a lot of time today, but it should be finished in time if I work my ass off tonight and tomorrow. Excited!

Here's an update about my Halloween flash for the Girl In A Room Collab II, due October 27th. Right now I am coloring in the animation, and working on the backgrounds in photoshop. Judging on what I've made so far, I think this might very well be my best quality piece to date. I am unsure how long it'll take me to finish these steps of the progress. Hopefully there'll be enough time left for me to properly work on the audio. So far I've been neglecting that part of the animation, but I really have to get started sooner or later. Voices will be done by headphoamz, so you know it's gonna be good ;)

I'll update about my flash animation soon, in a later entry. For now, here's moar gems! Oh, this guy is pretty talented for his age. Nothing he's made so far really qualifies as a gem in my book, but I expect great things from him in the future. Also hoping for this guy to create some more cool stuff. This person deserves a lot more fans as well!
